Welcome back to school!  As we start a new school year we pray that the students had an enjoyable and restful summer.  We also pray that God would be with all of our students this coming year.  May they develop the skills and talents that God had given them and may they grow spiritually in the faith which the Holy Spirit has planted in them.

 Birthday Blessings this week go out to Courtney Murkowski and Andrew Frick!

This week only, all families will receive our Weekly Newsletter home with their child(ren).  Beginning next week families will receive the Weekly Newsletter by their choice indicated on the Weekly Newsletter Slip.

 Tickets for theFriends of Christian Education Banquet (Night of Magic & Laughs), scheduled for November 6th, go on sale today in the school office.  The cost for the evening, including a prime rib or chicken breast dinner, is $35.  Entertainment will be provided by “The Comedy Magic of Mike”. Watch for additional informational to be released soon including details on how you can help.  Come experience the “Magic” as we raise funds to support Christian Education in Athens.

All students will sing on Sunday, September 12th at the 9:00am service, and are to meet in their classrooms at 8:30am.  The singing schedule for the school year is on the back of this Weekly Newsletter.

The first PTL Meeting will be on Sunday, September 12th, following the morning worship service. 

Congratulationsto Kristin Heller (4th place, time of 15:22) & Joshua Van Rixel (6th place, time of 14:37) for placing and receiving medals at the Athens Cross County first meet at Timm’s Hill last week!

There will be no school Monday September 6th due to Labor Day.

All familiesare asked to go through their packet of information received at “Back to School Night” and return the necessary forms to the office as soon as possible. These signed forms include – Handbook Signature Page, Weekly Newsletter Slip, Student Information Form, Technology Use Agreement.   Also, please keep your child’s account current at school, this includes lunch tickets, extra milk tickets, tuition, and the annual Technology fee. 

AtTeNtIoN YoUtH!  The Jr. High Youth Group (7th & 8th grade) will begin their monthly meetings Sunday, September 12th, after worship, and the Crusaders for Christ Youth Group (5th & 6th grade) will begin their monthly meetings Sunday evening, September 12th, 6:30pm. 

Fall Picture Dayis scheduled for Monday, October 11th, retakes will be Monday, November 22nd.
